Fabin Rosa, FRBJJ Founder
Born in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, Fabin grew up with a love for surfing and Jiu-jitsu. His BJJ career started under the instruction of 3rd Degree Black Belt Gustavo "Guga" Machado (Gracie Barra). Professor Machado eventually relocated to the United States to open his new academy and Fabin came under the tutelage of renowned Gracie Barra instructor Roberto “Roleta” Magalhaes.
In 2007, after receiving his black belt from Roleta, Fabin was invited to teach at a Gracie Barra school in the United States. As a Gracie Barra instructor, Fabin taught BJJ, Gi, and No Gi classes; training some of the area's top professional MMA fighters, including multiple UFC fighters. With 20 years of Jiu-jitsu experience under his belt, he went on to open his own academy - Fabin Rosa Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy.
JD Lopez, Altamonte Springs' Head Instructor
With almost 20 years of martial arts experience, of which the last 10 have been in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, JD has developed a passion for the art of self defense. His Jiu-jitsu training began under Rilion Gracie black belt Rafael Coelho.
Shortly after the opening of FRBJJ, JD became a student under Fabin Rosa and eventually went on to serve as a full-time instructor in 2014. He is currently training and teaching everyday to continue sharing his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
JD's most recent accomplishments:
- 2015 IBJJF World silver medalist- purple belt
- 2016 IBJJF World bronze medalist- brown belt
- 2017 Promotion to the black belt
